VISTA Volunteer in the Allegheny Mountains I am an art historian, a grad school drop-out, and now a volunteer in rural West Virginia with Americorps VISTA. Two weeks into my year assignment, I was adopted in the street by a sweet, neurotic dog, violating my lease and changing my life. Now named Vista, we spend most of our time together.
