Cats are some of my favorite people I have a pair of 16-year-old littermates - brothers - named Simon and Garfunkel. They're silver/black and orange tabbies, respectively.
Simon is my soulmate. He's my guardian watch-cat. After I had foot surgery, he slept a few inches away from that foot. When I had shoulder surgery, he slept just off my shoulder, keeping guard. One I had to have the paramedics over due to a-fibs (harmless), and while the EMT was hooking up the EKG leads, Simon jumped up onto the back of the couch I was lying on, supervising everything.
I also have another big, fat orange cat -- not guite Garfield. More like Pooh. I'll walk over to him, and he'll thump down on his back, and lay there with his belly up in the air, waiting for me to rub it or scratch him. ^..^
